Welcome to BP Toronto!

Welcome to BP Toronto, your new home of all things Blue Jays under the Baseball Prospectus umbrella. For those who don’t already know, the writers on this site have migrated from what was formerly known as Blue Jays Plus, with a few new faces joining the fray. Our aim is to try and cover this team from both an analytical and humorous perspective in an effort to appeal to every kind of Blue Jays fan. If you’re joining us as a former BJP reader, have no fear! At BP Toronto, you will still get all of the content that you loved, and much, much more. On the other hand, if you’re new to the site, we hope that we can convince you to join us in our little Blue Jays corner of the internet.

BP Toronto will be your hub for…

  • News
  • Series Previews
  • Game Recaps
  • Under the Hood – Micro level pitching and hitting mechanics breakdowns
  • One-At-Bat – A deep dive into the most influential Blue Jays’ at-bat in a given week
  • Rotation Review – A weekly breakdown at the performance of the Blue Jays’ rotation
  • Artificial Turf Wars – A weekly Blue Jays podcast with special guests (formerly known as the Blue Jays Plus Podcast)
  • More!

The two of us, Matt Gwin and Joshua Howsam, will be working as your Co-Editors-In-Chief, providing content and ensuring that there is always something to read at BP Toronto. You can also find Joshua on Artificial Turf Wars, the official BP Toronto Podcast with Host Greg Wisniewski and Co-Host Chris Sherwin. In addition, you’ll find the works of Deputy Managing Editor Gideon Turk, along with pieces from contributors Steven McEwen, Ewan Ross, Jenn Smith, Andrew Arnold, Dave Church, Tammy Rainey, Eric Mercer, Nick Dika, Kyle Matte, and Michael Bradburn.

By having such a deep roster of writers, we hope to be able to provide constant Blue Jays coverage from every angle, and to make Baseball Prospectus Toronto your number one stop for Blue Jays news, analysis, and fun.

With that said, we hope you enjoy the the site. As well, don’t be a stranger. Feel free to say hello in the comments section below, follow us on Twitter @BProToronto, and like us on Facebook.

I like that you’ve joined BP. I dislike the name of the podcast. Good luck!! This is going to be fun season.

Great to see this expanded energy to augment Blue Jays Plus to the Baseball Perspectives group. Look forward to following fun and hopefully the great exploits of a great healthy team in 2016.

Looking forward to your coverage – I wish you’d done this sooner. Not sure how much longer I’ll stay a Jays fan, though. I can’t handle Mark Shapiro’s boring bean-counter approach, and really miss AA’s flair, imagination and intelligence.
