Can we not draft a pitcher?
Certainly an interesting departure from the Anthopoulos days, but the Jays did take a pitcher with their first and fourth rounders last year, as well as one of their two first rounders this year. Perhaps it’s an acknowledgement of either the depth in the system or the ease of developing one over the other.
Or it could have nothing to do with any of that and the players simply fell so that the top guy on their board at all those picks just happened to be a hitter.
