NOBODY really claimed he was an ace - Just that he was the Jays best SP - which he may be. If you look at his metrics - his FIP and XFIP are both in the low to mid 3's - a FULL run or more lower than his current ERA as of late JUNE. He has 4 pitched, great control and averaged 93 on his fastball. He's like the Maddux to Aaron Sanchez's Smoltz. Pitching in that AL East can have your luck factor stats look super funky: ERA, WHIP, AVG, HR's etc. He will have a big second half when the Jays play the Twins and White Sox more than any other team in their division. He's not an auto start as of yet - si Isuppose "slight sissapointment" but do to outstanding periphrials - he a sure fire hold #DO NOT DROP.

I think Stro will be fine. Whether he'll be fine enough for long enough to warrant the ace label that some fans gave him before this season remains to be seen. IMO, that was premature / wishful thinking. I wonder how many of those same fans would have seen him as an ace so soon if he had been with another team.
